The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection announced that Waterbury resident Moses Wilson, 70, was taken into police custody after being busted running over geese early on Sunday morning.
According to police, a witness called police at approximately 8:20 a.m. on Sunday, reporting that two cars had stopped on North Main Street to let the geese cross the street near the Knotty Pine Package Store.
At that point, Moses allegedly pulled into the shoulder, drove around the stopped cars and struck several geese, killing at least one of the animals.

Witnesses were able to identify the car’s license plate number, which was given to police investigators, who tracked down Moses, who was arrested and charged with animal cruelty, illegal method of taking waterfowl and taking waterfowl during closed season. He was also cited for passing on the right.
